Care
& Support
St. Mary’s church provides a holy communion service in the home
on a monthly basis and there is a monthly short service on a Sunday.
Other religious visits can be arranged as appropriate or on request.
We encourage residents to personalize their rooms on admission.
This can include keepsakes, mementoes, and small pieces of furniture,
pictures etc.
Relatives and Friends of residents are encouraged to visit and
there are no restrictions on visiting hours.
The Matron/Manager keeps in regular contact with relatives and
is always available to discuss any problems/concerns that may arise.
The home operates a “Key Worker” System. This means
that all residents are allocated with a member of staff who will
assist them in buying small items that they may require such as
toiletries etc.
Staff and Training
All of our staff at the Heathers are fully trained to carry out
their respective duties.
There is a Trained Nurse (RGN) on duty at The Heathers 24 hours
a day and they are backed up by a range of Carers and Domestic Staff
who work different shifts during the day and night.
Trained staff (RGN’s) regularly attend courses which are
designed to keep their training up-to-date and carers are all offered
the opportunity to gain their NVQ qualifications in Care at either
level 2, 3 or 4.
CSCI
The home is inspected twice a year by the Commission for Social
Care Inspection (CSCI). Prospective clients, residents and their
relatives are encouraged to view inspection reports, which are available
on the CSCI website - www.csci.org.uk |
