| Events A wide range of activities are organised for residents, including indoor and outdoor activities. At the Heathers Nursing Home we are very lucky to have our own staff that have been trained to drive the community transport buses/minibuses. Therefore we have a choice of different size buses available for a wide variety of trips. Relatives and Friends of residents are encouraged to participate in all activities/events that are organised by the home. Recent events include: Bristol Zoo One of the most recent excursions that some of the resident’s and staff enjoyed was an outing to Bristol Zoo. This included looking around the gardens, enjoying a picnic lunch and watching the animals. Residents also had great fun choosing souvenirs and small mementos from the gift shop. Almondsbury Garden Centre A great day was had by all on another of our trips to Almondsbury Garden Centre, where a few of our more “green fingered” residents enjoyed choosing plants to bring back to the Heathers to adorn the borders and hanging baskets. Grow bags and tomato plants were also bought as a “summertime project”. These were planted and cared for by the residents, and enjoyed by all throughout the Summer. Residents and staff also enjoyed Coffee and light refreshments in the cafeteria. |
